Contest #2 and January’s short

I wrote my short story for January today on the vanpool. I decided to leave off working on “Fundamental Moments” and make it my February short. I really like the idea and I want it to be done right. The one I wrote today is for the Writer’s Digest “Your Story” contest for February. They gave a first line prompt and I had to come in a story of less than 750 words off of it. I came in at 746. It is called “Like rain falling from a clear blue sky” and I like it quite a bit. I’ll let you know what happens with the contest when I hear something.

You can see my updated word counts in the sidebar. I’m planning to start The Lotus Eaters this week and get marching towards 150K. I’m also ready to clean up “Fundamental Moments” before the end of February. I’m definitely looking forward to a productive February. Keep coming back and support your local writer!
